Cennox Schooltext service today helped schools notify parents of snow closures.
Following the heavy snowfall overnight many schools have closed a day early for the Christmas break. Cennox find success with full service Bluetooth campaigns.
Cennox Have recently started supplying Bluetooth technology to companies that want to expand their marketing potential and reach new customers. Bluetooth or proximity marketing can be used in a number of ways to attract/inform and entice potential clients within the immediate proximity of a business. Bluetooth marketing has been used by both big and small brands as a way of building up awareness. Cennox Launch Schooltext Service.
After the snow fell last year there was COMPLETE confusion between both parents and children at schools across the country. It appeared that there was no easy way of teachers quickly informing parents of whether their school was open or closed. Parents had to listen to the radio for up to half an hour to get information on closures, the phone lines were blocked and teachers found it hard to update school websites remotely. We therefore decided to create a service that would enable teachers to communicate with parents instantly and that would be available 24/7. The following week Schooltext was born.
The Cennox Schooltext system allows teachers to broadcast SMS messages instantly to the whole school in a cost effective and efficient way. We understand the fact that teachers might want to communicate with parents remotely, therefore we decided to supply each school with two mobile phones that are ‘whitelisted’ to the system. This means that teachers can broadcast messages remotely from their mobiles, even abroad. Each school has the ability to ‘whitelist’ as many mobile phones as they need to so that teachers from all year groups can broadcast messages.
Since the initial development of Schooltext the system has become more effective and has more features. We now run a list manager service which enables teachers to target groups of students or a whole year group for more direct messaging. Like Hometext the Schooltext service is on 24/7 enabling teachers to contact parents at weekends or evenings if need be. The system also has the ability to enable parents to pull down information from the school diary, a simple keyword + diary enables users to do this. Schools using the service have found it invaluable when returning from trips in letting parents know when the bus will be back. Other uses of Schooltext included reminding parents of special assemblies, school trip payments, school closures, non uniform days, Club information, Calendar changes the list goes on.....
